30 Paintings in 30 Days: Day 12

Day 12

I can hardly believe it is already day 12...we are almost half way through the challenge.  Time sure does go fast when you are having fun (and when your busy).

Untitled  8x10 oil on canvas sheet

I have this pitcher that sits on my coffee table, and it is one of my favorites from Christmas.  Can you believe my 10 year old picked it out for me from Joanna Gaines' Hearth and Hand collection?  [My family knows me so well.]  I knew the moment I saw it that it would one day hold a bouquet of flowers, and that day had come.

*Side Note*  If you have an Aldi grocery near you...they have amazing prices on fresh flowers!  These Tulips cost about the same as a Starbucks latte.

When I was out this past weekend I picked 2 bunches of tulips from Aldi's.  They are my favorite flower so I couldn't resist...besides, I needed another subject to paint, right!?

I'm still struggling with painting tulips even from a distance, but I keep revisiting the challenge hoping it will eventually be successful.  I also wanted to use a white background inspired by shiplap.  Hmmm, shiplap...Joanna Gaines' pitcher, wonder what I should name this painting?  Any suggestions?
