Friday's Feature: Princess Rose

Friday's Feature: Princess Rose

I was sitting in church on Sunday morning listening to my husband's message.  Something he said sparked a thought in my mind.  As my mind wondered, visions of children wearing crowns danced in my head.  I pondered the glorious truth of how we in Christ are children of the King.  Little girls pretending to be a princess, and little boys prince isn't so far fetched after all.  No matter our social status, we (those in Christ) are princesses and princes...adopted by the King!

It was that day (late in 2016) that I decided that I would paint a collection called "Children of the King", but I didn't want this to be just a collection of sweet children with crowns.  I wanted this collection to have meaning and purpose so I put it on hold until I had clear leading on what that would be.

I love Instagram, and I have become more active on the social network these past 6 months.  I have met a community of sweet like-minded people with similar interest who are encouraging and inspiring.  Through this community is how I was introduced to Love 146, an organization that helps fight the war on child trafficking.  The Lord put it on my heart to make this cause the purpose behind my first release of this collection which I hope to release late summer 2017.

When you get a chance, click on the above picture to watch a short video about how this organization came to be, and what they do to help these children.  After learning more about this crises effecting our children, I am heart broken over the children that are taken here in my own backyard.  It is time for us to take a stand for our children.

Princess Rose is the first painting in this collection, and she will be part of an auction June 22-23 via Instagram.  All proceeds from this auction will go to Love 146.  There are numerous small shops who will be participating in the auction so make sure you are following me  here  @beverly_gurganus_art or click the Instagram button from the drop down menu so you won't miss out.
