Friday's Feature: Zentangle Portrait

Before I get into this weeks "Friday's Feature", Let me apologize for missing last week's post.  My oldest daughter is getting married in June, and Ive taken on the job of planning her bridal shower.  Time seemed to creep up on me, and I had to rush to design her invites.  I really should have planned my schedule better, but you know how artist can be...we tend to get lost in our paintings. (haha). ... Ok, let's get to the post at hand. This weeks feature is a combination of things that I love... Portrait, pattern, and drawing.  I love...

Friday's Feature: Out of Ashes

I have been thinking about the feature for this week, and how I can tie my Friday's Feature in with Easter.  I have a chick painting, I have a bunny painting, and I even have flowers and eggs, but I didn't want to feature something so literal and cheesy just so it "fit" the holiday. The...

Come on out for their annual Chick Days and bring the kids.  I mean, who doesn't love baby chicks!  I may or may not be doing a live painting...you will have to come to see for yourself.  In the meantime, I'm working on a new painting to add to this collection.

Friday's Feature: Tulips

Happy Friday! Are you ready for another Friday Feature?  As I was preparing for the release of my Floral Collection, I was pondering on what painting I wanted to feature.  In my bedroom hangs a large tulip painting that I painted several years age, and thought to myself..."that painting would be perfect for this weeks feature."   Tulips Oil on Canvas (painted 2009) I don't have a deep thoughtful story on the reason or process of this painting.  I love tulips, and I just wanted to paint them.  This is, however, my first oil painting that wasn't an assignment for art...
