Friday's Feature: Grandma Burchett

Growing older (aging) is something that I've always viewed as a negative process, but it has brought many positives (blessings if you will) along the journey.  My husband and I know each other like we know ourselves and in some ways more.  Remember those early years of marriage when you were use to doing things one way and your spouse did them another way.  What was once your way and his way became "our way".  You really begin to function as one... I don't know how long it took for that to happen (it just happened), but after 28 years of marriage, we are there. ...

Friday's Feature - Red Barn on the Mountain

Hey friends! I'm loving all the warm weather we are having lately, and I've been looking for any excuse to be outside.  The yard is looking fresh (It is amazing what a few flowers and mulch can do), the pool is now opened and ready for swimming, and the garden is already starting to produce fresh veggies... Friday's Feature: Zentangle Portrait

(haha). ... Ok, let's get to the post at hand. This weeks feature is a combination of things that I love... Portrait, pattern, and drawing.  I love...

Friday's Feature: Out of Ashes

I have been thinking about the feature for this week, and how I can tie my Friday's Feature in with Easter.  I have a chick painting, I have a bunny painting, and I even have flowers and eggs, but I didn't want to feature something so literal and cheesy just so it "fit" the holiday. I began to think of the deeper meaning of Easter and Spring.  When I think of Spring, I think of new life.  The once baron tree branches are now bringing forth leaves and seeds, and shrubs wear its new leaves ( that change the bush from a deep dark...
